CHINESE WOMEN'S BUSINESS ASSOCIATION(R.O.C)

The Chinese Women's Business Association(CWBA) was established on June 29 1980, and is now in its 44th year. During this time, the Association established its Taiwan divisions and branches, and also assisted the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women to establish fifteen branches around the world. The twenty-two branches in Taiwan, including the main association, consists of more than 1500 members, who are the elite businesswomen from various industrial and commercial circles. All of them excel in their trade and are highly successful.
The majority of businesses in Taiwan are comprised of small and medium enterprises, and a marked sense of solidarity has developed among these businesses. These strong ties have been forged through mutual support and networked financing have enabled them to survive many financial crises. Taiwan has won global acclaim for the excellence of its high technology enterprises by producing precision technology products for markets worldwide. The women of our industries have also excelled in the many positions they hold by contributing their talents and perseverance, thereby providing immense services to our society.
The CWBA assembles elite women from all walks of life, to communicate, learn, grow, and provide various services to one another.

1. We unite business women of Taiwan, to give liberal assistance and loving care.

2. We organize business visits and lectures to promote the professional growth and exchange of women entrepreneurs in Taiwan.

Location: Taiwan's total land area is only about 36,000 square kilometers (14,400 square miles). It is shaped like a leaf that is narrow at both ends. It lies off the southeastern coast of mainland Asia, across the Taiwan Strait from China-- an island on the western edge of the Pacific Ocean. To the north lies Japan; to the south is the Philippines. Many airlines fly to Taiwan, helping make it the perfect travel destination. The government has established 8 national parks and 13 national scenic areas to preserve Taiwan's best natural ecological environment and cultural sites. Take a hike in the splendor and sheer heights of the cliffs at Taroko Gorge; take a ride on the Ali Mountain (Alishan) Forest Railway and experience the breathtaking sunrise and sea of clouds; hike up to the summit of Northeast Asia's highest peak, Yu Mountain (Yushan) . You can also soak up the sun in Kending (Kenting) , Asia's version of Hawaii; stand at the edge of Sun Moon Lake; traipse through the East Rift Valley; or visit the offshore islands of Kinmen and Penghu. It's fun in capital letters as well as an awesome journey of natural discovery!

Climate:Taiwan enjoys warm weather all year round. The strongest fluctuations in weather conditions are during springs and winters, while during summers and autumns the weather is relatively stable. Taiwan is extremely suitable for traveling, as the annual average temperature is a comfortable 22 degrees Celsius with the lowest temperatures ranging from 12 to 17 degrees Celsius (54-63 Fahrenheit). while Taiwan's relatively warm and short winters (November to February) are the time for you to admire the beautifully colored maple trees. The cold fronts that reach Taiwan sporadically are greatly favored by the island's hot spring lovers. In short, Taiwan, where it always seems to be spring, is your perfect travel destination!

History:Taiwan's history can be traced back to at least 7000 years ago. Between 7000 and 400 years ago, Austronesia ancestors of the indigenous arrived in Taiwan in small groups and became the earliest known inhabitants of Taiwan.
During the age of discovery of the 16th century, the western sailors arrived in the Far East to set up colonies and conduct trade.

Literature and Art:If you want to observe the multifaceted manifestations of 5,000 years of culture, or feel for yourself the joy and harmony of life in a heterogeneous society, then a tour of Taiwan is just what you need. Perhaps the best thing about experiencing the endless variety of Taiwan's artistic wonders is that whatever you like, whether it is folk festivals, religious faith, traditional skills, or modern art, is that everything is right at hand. You can find expressions of the country's rich and various arts on every street and lane, and in the lives of the people. And every part of Taiwan - north, center, south, and east, and even the offshore islands - shows its own unique local characteristics, profoundly different yet centered on a common cultural core. This is the source of Taiwan's magnetic allure.

Religion:Taiwan is highly diversified in terms of religious faith, with the practices of Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Mormonism, the Unification Church, Islam, and Hinduism , as well as native sects such as Yiguandao and others. Thecountry not only respects traditional faiths but also opens its arms to other types of religions thought from the outside.
